Rage Of The Tortured Child

Auto Date Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

“That tiny ember of rage flared bright and on dry regrets caught
hold.”

I went to an opening at Hosfeld gallery in San Francisco
recently. The art did not register in me. This strand of poetry
did.

The Leadership literature is rife with stories of children from
broken homes, tortured childhoods, abuse and abandonment, all
leading up to destinies larger than average lives. Many
psychiatrists say that it is almost necessary to have a feeling
of inadequacy in the past driving you, to continue performing
and reaching for more, more, and more.

Imagine this. A boy of five waits for his mother after school.
All the other children from his kindergarten class have left at
least an hour back. The mother does not show up. She has
forgotten. The scene gets repeated day after day after day …
She is not quite there. She is never there.

This child grew up to become one of the most admired CEOs in the
technology business.

Examples abound. Steve Jobs and Larry Ellison are both raised by
adopted parents, subconsciously longing for validation and
belonging. Along the way, over-compensating, both with
extraordinary achievements, and unbearable antics.

Said once, a monk in Calcutta: “Discontent is Divine”.

A tormented, tortured soul fights and fights to prove its worth
to the rest of the world. Mostly, to himself. The world needs to
acknowledge that he matters, for some internal little voice
keeps on sabotaging, keeps on reinforcing the insecurities of a
lonely childhood.

Business Week cover stories provide a little validation. Wall
Street Journal features provide some more. But the ego keeps on
needing to be fed. It needs to be reassured.

No amount of achievement heals the hurt, broken little child. No
conquest, however great, can silence the demons.

Hence, the discontent continues to drive greater and greater
achievements …

Five reasons to use cross training to whip you in top shape

Auto Date Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Exercise is one of the best gifts you can give your body. You
can tone and strengthen muscles, lose body fat, lower your blood
pressure and strengthen your heart. To gain the maximum amount
of benefit to your body, it’s important to vary your exercise
routine, as no one exercise can do everything. One popular way
to get a total body workout is cross training - a method that
includes alternating cardiovascular exercise with strength
training.

Some people like to do aerobic exercise on different days than
strength training. Others prefer to get in both types of workout
in one day. With cross training, most experts recommend that you
vary your exercises, even within the aerobic or strength
training group. For instance, if you’re a runner, you might
alternate running with swimming, biking or elliptical training.
If you’re used to using only free weights for strength training,
cross training will allow you to try some weight machines, as
well. Following are some benefits you can gain from adding cross
training to your fitness regimen.

* You will enhance your overall performance - Most fitness
scientists agree that cross training provides the best mechanism
for taking care of your whole body. The aerobic training you
will get from running, swimming, or working out on an elliptical
machine will improve your endurance. The weight training will
make your muscles strong and lean. Most sports require both
capabilities, making cross training the best way to get into
shape

* You can keep training even after an injury - When you are
performing multiple types of activities and using many muscles,
an injury won’t stop you. You can work other parts of your body
while the injured area heals, or simply switch exercises for a
while.

* You can get in more exercise time without soreness or injury -
This one is a big plus if you’re trying to lose weight. By
varying your exercise you can spend more time per week
exercising without risking soreness or injury. If you usually
run, for example, you might not be able to add another hour of
running to your week without being sore or causing knee
problems. But, you could easily swim or bike for an hour in
addition to your runs without causing a problem.

* You’ll increase your proficiency in multiple sports - Adding
variety to your routine will cause you to explore exercises you
had previously ignored. Never used an elliptical trainer? Now’s
the time to try. Not used to the recumbent bike? See what you
think.

* You’ll reduce your chances of boredom - This is one of the
biggest culprits that keep us out of the gym. But, with cross
training, your workouts are so varied that you never get bored.
Don’t feel like swimming today? Fine, get on the elliptical
machine instead. It’s still a valuable workout, and it won’t
seem so mundane

Cross training has gained a lot of popularity in recent years,
and seems to be fulfilling its promise of making us healthier
and more fit overall. Even the early opponents of cross training
who said that athletes should train in a very task specific way,
seem to have changed their minds. Give it a try, you may find
that you are getting healthier and having more fun, too!

Tips For Buying Estate Jewelry For Your Mother

Auto Date Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Estate Jewelry is the perfect gift for your Mom whether it’s for Mother’s Day, her birthday, or Christmas. Mother’s will always enjoy a lovely piece of jewelry. But there are some things you should know before heading out to buy that jewelry to make sure you don’t pay too much or don’t land up with a fake piece of jewelry. Estate jewelry is always an excellent choice because your Mom may have personal attachments to a certain piece or style. Follow these tips for buying jewelry for your Mother.

Check around!
Quality jewelry isn’t cheap so before you even start shopping check around with co-workers, friends, and family and see which stores or web sites they recommend for purchasing fine jewelry from. Also take note of the ones they tell you to stay away from. Other peoples experiences are a great method of finding the best jewelry store available.
Get it Written Down
If you’ve been talking with a sales rep then have them write down all the information they’ve given you including the stores policy on refunds and returns. If you are buying online then print out all the detailed information supplied on the web site including contact information, return policies, and refund policies.

Watch The Markings
Gold plated is not 14 karat gold. Some might try to lead you to believe this but its just not so. 14K jewelry is made of 14 parts of gold combined with 10 parts of a base metal. Gold plated means that the cheaper base metal has simply had a layer of 10K gold bonded to it. Eventually the gold will wear away and leave you with the ugly base metal. How long it takes to wear away will depend on how well it is plated, how often you wear it, and how your skin reacts to it.

Watches
There are two different watch styles, the battery operated and the winding style. You’ll have to decide which type is best for your Mom. You’ll also want to find out how long the warranty is and what it covers. A personal experience with a higher end watch maker left me rather amazed. I had managed to wear the gold plating off the band which was listed in the life time warranty as covered. However upon sending it in for replacement I found out I had neglected to read the fine print that had a list of exclusions on the life time warranty. So the moral of the story is read and read it all. Don’t have a big surprise later on. That replacement band cost me half the value of the original purchase price. Ouch!

Understand Gems
You need to understand the different between a natural gem that comes from mother earth and a synthetic or laboratory created gem that is man made. To look at them side by side you cannot visually see any differences. But the biggest difference is in the price. Natural gems cost a great deal more. So if you really want a natural gemstone then you’ll have to pay more. When buying a natural gem make sure that you understand what you are getting. Natural gems can have treatments that enhance their beauty. Enhanced natural gems are not worth the same money as a natural natural gem and they may also require special treatment so that they don’t become damaged or loose their luster.

Pearls
You can buy beautiful real pearls and imitation pearls. Real pearls come from oysters or mollusks where imitation pearls are man made. Cultured pearls come from oysters or mollusks but man intervenes by adding an irritant to cause a pearl to grow within the shell. Pearls that are natural and not cultured are rare and very expensive and there really isn’t any difference except for mans little bit of intervention.

Diamonds
Diamonds are forever is deep in meaning. One being that a diamond will quite literally last forever. You need to consider cut, color, clarity, and weight when choosing a diamond. Each of these factors will affect the price of the diamond. Color can be graded on a scale but the scales are not consistent as there is no industry standard scale so make sure you understand the scale for the specific diamond you are looking at.

Chains
A chain is always a wonderful choice for a jewelry gift for your mother. Either gold or silver are excellent choices. Chains are available in many lengths so you can choose a length that is appropriate for your Mom. You can also boy many different styles from the very dainty to bold and noticeable. Add a pendant if you like.

Follow these tips for buying jewelry for your Mother and you’ll have purchased the perfect gift. So whether you purchase a new jewelry piece or a beautiful estate jewelry piece it will be treasured by your Mom for years to come.

Marriage - Divorce - Separation - How to handle the split loyalties after separation.

Auto Date Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

We have all most probably encountered it at some stage in our
lives - who do we stay friends with after a couple divorces or
separates?

The text book answer is to stay friends with both parties of
course but that’s a mighty tall order to fulfil as we are
dealing with human emotions and judgemental attitudes here as
well.

Fortunately I think that most normal friends witnessing a couple
of family splitting up can actually see both sides of the coin
and actually do stay away from taking sides.

However, in the real world the divorcing couple will normally
expect you to commit to one side or the other and this pattern
often establishes itself way before the final separation or
divorce. This is due to our blame culture where we often ignore
our own responsibilities for the situation we find ourselves in
- it’s always someone else’s fault - black & white, when
actually there will be many shades of grey that overlap and it
is often not until many years later and upon a lot of reflective
thought that we suddenly realise that we were actually partly to
blame for the failure of that relationship.

So, how do friends handle the initial expectation from one part
of the divorcing couple to now ignore their former partner? It
can be really tough for friends of separating partners - you
know, who do you invite to the family party - him or her - can
you invite both? - what will happen if they both meet at the
daughters wedding? - god forbid but what will happen should each
one bring a new partner? - The scenarios are endless.

Having experienced several friends now go through divorce and
separation proceedings and each one has found its own set of
issues, I can say that there is no set advice or guidance in the
form of a one size fits all answer.

However, there are a few outline framework procedures that I
would certainly adopt in order to ensure that your former couple
remain friends long after the divorce or separation.

Firstly - always try to balance being sympathetic and
understanding to your main friend but without actually agreeing
to any of their own conclusions regarding blame etc. - remember
your only hearing one side of a very unbalanced perspective.
This ensures that you do not reinforce your friends biased
viewpoint and you can still remain impartial - very important.
This may require exemplary diplomatic skills but if your
conscious of this fact can actually be quite challenging and
rewarding - its like being tested yourself.

Secondly, make it clear to your main friend that you may still
see or respond to their former partner from time to time after
the divorce or separation for obvious and practical reasons.
Most of our lives are intertwined these days with other stuff
such as the sharing of the school run or business contacts for
example. It needs to be made clear by way of simple inexplicit
references with your normal conversations that this will happen.
This signals to your main friend that divided loyalties are not
actually that simple to divide in the manner that they may be
thinking. It also ensures that you are not accused of being a
‘Judas’ and losing the confidence or friendship of your main
friend when they find out that you have had contact with their
former partner.

And thirdly, never, ever say what you really thought of their
former partner even if you think that having empathy with their
feelings will help them over this period - Just remember that a
high proportion of separating couples do actually end up getting
back together again & releasing a load of sympathetic venom last
month will stick in your reunited friends throat like barbed
wire and your relationship with them both will never be the same
again.

Within these three basic guidance rules will be a whole host of
anomalies that will occur that will need careful thoughtful
planning on what your responses will be for each individual case
of a divorcing couple. It wont be easy - it never is especially
when dealing with a high emotional content. But trying to frame
your responses within these three basic guidance rules should
ensure that your friendship is retained and remains flexible for
most situations that may occur over the coming years.

Consider a 15-year Mortgage

Auto Date Monday, April 28th, 2008

If you are dedicated to managing your money wisely — not from the month to month standpoint, but an overall view — you should consider taking a 15-year mortgage.

A 15-year mortgage comes with a lot of advantages. You can own your home free and clear before you retire. You can save a lot of money in interest — hundreds of thousands in many cases.

If you are thinking that a 15-year mortgage must cost a lot more than a 30-year mortgage, consider the following:

If you were to take out a 30-year mortgage at 8% interest, your monthly payment for principal and interest would be $734 a month. Over the life of the mortgage, you will pay back $164,165 in interest.

That same $100,000 at 7.5% interest will cost you $927 each month in principal and interest. You will pay back $66,862 in interest over the life of the mortgage.

For only $193 extra a month, you can save $97,293 in interest. That’s a lot of money that isn’t going to the lender. It all stays with you. Plus, you own your home in half the time.

There are some arguments made for taking out the 30-year and putting the difference in savings. It doesn’t always work out the way you plan. If you were to save the $193 each month and never miss a month in a 4% average yield account, you would have $47,495. It’s less than half you would save with the 15-year mortgage. And you have to be really dedicated to put that amount into your savings without fail.

The truth is that most people are really awful about saving money. Chances are that you wouldn’t really be disciplined enough to put that money in savings. I’m sure that there are other places you would spend it.

If you have the extra money, you should consider the 15-year mortgage. You are building equity in your property much faster. You are getting debt out of the way before retirement.

There are cases in which taking the lower monthly payment may be more beneficial. For example, people who are certain they will move in a couple of years are often better off taking out the lowest monthly payment mortgage they can, especially in areas where home values are on the rise.

There are a lot of people out there looking to stretch into the largest or most expensive home they can possible afford. If you want to stretch, the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage is certainly your best choice. But you should really consider the properties in your price range for a 15-year mortgage. Even if you are going to sell the home in a decade, when you sell it, you will have more equity in the home to get back. Your payments have been working for you, not against you.

There are also those that take out the 30-year — just in case — and pay it off like a 15-year. There is nothing wrong with this. Just make sure that your mortgage doesn’t come with prepayment penalties. You will just have to be certain that you are disciplined enough to make the extra payments. That’s the only way you will save.

Most people consider their homes their largest investment. It doesn’t have to cost you so much. Getting rid of your debt is the grandest step you will take to living free. A mortgage isn’t something you should stretch to its breaking point. The 15-year mortgage is a wise decision for the home owner with an eye towards the future.

Coed Baby Shower Planning - How Throw A Guy-friendly Baby Shower Party And Stay Creative

Auto Date Monday, April 28th, 2008

If you can, why not throw a coed baby shower and assign a male co-host for you next baby shower planning?

Not only celebrities in L.A tend to ahead of the curve when it come to trends, a famous baby site also reports that nearly half of baby showers now are coed parties.

Especially with busy soon-to-be-Moms, like business owner, company executives, and celebrities, there is often a Mr. Mom at home who expects to fully participate in the baby shower. And of course, their male buddies.

Beside, dad-to-be plays a very big role during the pregnancy and in the new baby’s life, why should you get the new mom to celebrate on her own?

Of course, hosting a coed baby shower is more than just putting the male guests on the inviting list. Some shower hostesses even worry that guys would not attend such a party where participants play games such as Round-the-Tummy.

If you could not stand the thought of seeing their bored unhappy faces, my suggestion is to ask one of them to give you a hand.

In fact, the male co-host can provide big help from choosing the stylish color invitation, to picking up the dad-friendly baby shower ideas and games, and guiding the men to check gift registry as they often don’t know what to buy for the baby-to-come.

The best co-host candidate: the soon-to-be-grandpa or any male guest who has the experiences of baby shower or the pregnancy process.

What if you’re pulling you hair out but still have no clue on how to entertain the guys? I suggest you learn from your past party experiences.

As someone once said, “The best way to have a great idea is to have a lot of good ideas.” It works the same way to find unique baby shower ideas.

Lots of baby shower hostesses don’t realize that the most creative baby shower ideas lie somewhere deep in their mind. They just don’t know it.

I mean, we’ve all spent hours coming up with birthday parties, family reunions, weddings, and even holidays like Halloween and Christmas. Once the party is over, however, all that energy and all those ideas usually just dwindle away.

Think about this: If you can get out the party photos somehow find their way into a forgotten folder on your computer’s hard drive or hidden inside a photo album somewhere, you can simply put an end to all the wasting of your time.

French Press Coffee - Style And Flavor For Your Coffee

Auto Date Monday, April 28th, 2008

The French press style of coffee making produces very rich, aromatic and tasty coffee. It uses very coarsely ground coffee that basically steeps in the brewing water for several minutes allowing all the flavours to fully extract from the coffee grinds. Because of the filtering system there is always some sediment which some people don’t like.

A French press coffee maker has two parts: a straight-sided container usually made of glass, and a filter-plunger that pushes through the water to filter out the coffee after it has steeped. This plunger also serves as the lid. There are some models of French Press that are insulated which is good for keeping things hot while it steeps.

To brew coffee with a French Press, you should pre-heat the carafe while you boil your water. When ready, empty the carafe, add your coffee, and then add your brewing water. You may wish to stir the coffee grinds around to be sure all of them are in contact with water. You should now put the plunger/lid on the pot to help retain heat. DO NOT press it down yet, it needs to steep for about four minutes (a little more or less depending the coarseness of the grind).

Once you feel the coffee has brewed enough, slowly depress the plunger trapping the grounds on the bottom. Do not force the plunger. If it doesn’t want to go down, simply lift the plunger up slightly and try again. The filter can jam on grinds that are too fine. Just take your time and it will work.

Despite what some may say, it is usually best to decant the coffee into an insulated serving pot. If you leave the coffee in the French Press it will remain in contact with the grinds and keep brewing. This will quickly ruin your coffee. The other main reason to pour your coffee off is to keep it warm. French Press pots are not well insulated and coffee cools off very quickly.

Play with the brewing time and grind coarseness until you get the taste that you like best. Once you’ve done that you will have some of the tastiest coffee anywhere.

How to Get a Patent for Your Idea

Auto Date Monday, April 28th, 2008

Do you have a great new idea? Are you an aspiring new inventor?
Are you worried someone might try to steal your idea or
invention? Are you wondering if your idea or invention is even
new? Would you like to know how to get a patent for your idea or
invention? If so, please read on for answers to these common
patent questions.

Invention patents are obtained through the U.S. Patent Office.
All of the information needed for obtaining an invention patent
and the patent filing procedures are listed at their website:
uspto.gov. Here, you can download and file your patent
application electronically.

Not everyone can obtain a patent for their inventions or ideas.
If your invention has already been created, or if it is just an
improvement of someone else’s patented invention, you cannot
obtain a patent for it. You can do a patent search at uspto.gov
to see if your idea has already been thought of.

When you’re ready to obtain a patent, you can either file
yourself or get the help of a patent attorney. Patent attorneys
are available anywhere, but make sure you find a reputable one
because they can be quite expensive. You’ll also have to pay
patent application fees when you file.

There are 3 different types of patents: utility, design, and
plant. Each type of patent has a different application. The
patent application should include the inventor, a description of
the invention, what the invention does, drawings, charts,
testimonials, and any other information about the invention. You
must also submit the application fees upon filing.

Next, your patent application will be reviewed. The patent
examiner will do a patent search to be sure your invention is
unique. If he determines it is unique, you will get a patent. If
it is not found to be unique, you will not receive the patent
and you must argue against it or try to file again.

Once you have the patent, be sure to get the help of an
Invention Development Organization (IDO). An IDO will help you
to market your idea and invention. They will also help you
protect your invention and its patent by keeping a look out for
copy cat inventors that will try to mimic your invention.

This is all of the basic information you need to know to obtain
a patent for your idea. The U.S. patent office receives over
350,000 patent applications a year, so the application process
for your patent idea can take a very long time. Be patient and
remain optimistic. If you have a truly remarkable idea or
invention your chances of obtaining a patent are excellent!

Interior Decorating For Cats - Protecting Your Possessions

Auto Date Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Part 1

The first thing a cat owner should know about home décor is to keep it simple. Cats are completely convinced that they are in charge, that the house and its possessions belong to them, and that they have every right to break rip or shred anything they like. Even a well trained cat (a possible oxymoron) will occasionally get overzealous, and with an inadvertent sweep of their tail will knock your favorite decoration from its place to a pile on the floor.

This disregard for your possessions, overt or otherwise, requires that you use some strategy when deciding on the placement of various decorative pieces. This is going to amount basically to common sense. Any surface that a cat can reach, they will walk on. Therefore low shelves or dressers should not contain any objects that are fragile. Items should be moved towards the middle of a surface, or back against the wall, to prevent them being knocked onto the floor. Items that have a broad or sturdy base should replace other more top heavy objects. Decorative accents that can shatter, such as ceramics or stone statues, may have to be replaced by steal or wood.

One way to display fragile items is to move them up. High shelves that are isolated from cat “stepping stones” will be out of dangers way. The same may be true of tall dressers, although unfortunately some cats will take a tall isolated dresser as a personal challenge, which they simply have to climb. Your décor will have to be matched to the personality of your cat.

Mirrors can also provide a problem, as some cats tend to attack their own reflection. If your cat has a problem with this, buying velvet or satin cloth and draping it over the mirror can be a decorative way to solve this.

Plants can be one of the biggest décor problems a cat owner will face. Your pet can chew on leaves, dig in the soil, or urinate in them. Luckily, there are ways both to decorate around these problems as well as to train your cat out of them. For biting and chewing of leaves, a natural spray repellent applied to the plant will cause most cats to avoid it. To stop a cat from rooting in or excreting in your plant you have to realize that the dirt in the pot is reminiscent of the cats litter box. In order to change this, use stones or gravel to fill over the top of the dirt. This will remove the cat’s fascination with the soil, and can be a lovely decorative accent to your plant

Cat grass is a special kind of plant you can grow in your home that is specifically formulated to be safe for felines, and to provide them with certain vitamins they may be lacking. Purchasing this can give your cat an acceptable alternative to messing with your plants. When you see your cat eating the cat grass, reward them lavishly. When you see them going near other plants, pick them up and place them in front of the cat grass. If they eat the offered vegetation, then reward them. In this way you can use positive reinforcement to turn one behavior into another

Cats will scratch anything which is made of cloth, including couches, drapes, and pillows. Because of this, you may want to start by spraying natural cat repellent on your more attractive pieces. A plastic couch cover may have to be used for a short time while the cat learns to behave itself. Buying your pet a scratching post and praising it for scratching that instead of your couch is a good way to positively reinforce the negative behavior out of the cat. You will have to carefully monitor their progress, and only remove protective coverings from your furniture when you are sure they are safe.

While cats are a hazard to most décor, planning ahead can minimize these problems. Cats are so difficult to train that it is often easier to simply decorate around them. Using common sense, and paying attention, should allow you to develop a setting that compliments your pet owning experience.

Part 2: Protecting your pet

If you own a cat, then designing the décor of your home will require taking several precautions in order to protect your pet from harm. Glass items should be avoided both because they are easy to shatter, and because fragments of glass can then become embedded in your cat’s skin. Other items to avoid are those that have sharp edges, spikes, or that have small pieces which can break off and be swallowed.

You should also consider whether any object you bring into your home would be unhealthy if eaten by the feline. These items may include plants, flowers, and scented candles. Cats are fairly self-sufficient, as well as intelligent, however they are also curious, and you do not want to give them any easy method for hurting themselves.

Cats are fascinated by string, as part of their inherent instinct to kill snakes. This fascination may carry over to electrical wires. If you catch your cat attacking or playing with electric cords you should stop them immediately. This is a very dangerous problem that can not only result in the cat electrocuting themselves, but also in causing a fire. If your pet persists in this problem, one way to protect your wires is to wrap them in duct tape. This will make them harder to break through and less appetizing for a cat to chew on. There are also many natural sprays which have specially formulated smells that will cause a cat to avoid an area in which it is sprayed.

Curtain cords hold much the same fascination that electrical wires do, and they can also be a danger from strangulation. If you have rope that dangles too far from your curtain, the cat may attack it, causing it to tangle. If the cat becomes caught in the tangle itself, it can be very dangerous. Long hanging cords should be tied up out of the cats reach, or cut so that they do not dangle where a feline can reach them.

The level of caution you should use is based upon your individual cat. Monitor your pet and your home, and change your setting as necessary. Always use caution when bringing a new object into an area, and be certain you don’t introduce anything which can be harmful to the cat. Mostly, just use common sense and try to remove any obvious hazards to where they can’t be reached.

Interior Decorating for Cat Owners
Part 3: The Beauty of Cat Decor

For the most part cat décor is less about being beautiful and more about keeping your pet safe and comfortable. However there are so many manufacturers of cat products that you can fine almost any of the items mentioned above in several different colors. Try purchasing items such as litter boxes and scratching posts in matching or complimentary colors. If you match the hue to the rest of your setting you may be able to blend them seamlessly into the area

Alternatively, you may want to set aside a space just for the cat’s things, in order to separate them from the look of the rest of the room. While this won’t completely eliminate the intrusion of cat toys onto your setting, it can allow you to create interplay between the cat’s possessions and yours. If your home is predominated by a single color such as green or blue, purchasing matching black cat possessions can actually compliment this look. If your colors are more mottled, then patterned cat toys, or subdued sandy colored ones, may be a better way to create equality in the room’s hue.

The litter box is one of the most troublesome cat possessions to decorate around. It stinks, it’s dirty, and it’s generally surrounded by stray litter tramped out of the box by your oblivious cat. One way to deal with this item is to hide it, either in a bathroom, or somewhere out of the way such as a closet. If you don’t have anywhere to hide it, then you should consider getting a covered cat box. They are much more attractive then leaving the litter bare, and will also reduce the smell. Unfortunately these are rarely attractive, and become dirty easy. To create your own custom covering, get a giant cardboard box and place it over the litter. Cut a hole in the front where the door is. Cover the box in decorative paper, such as wrapping paper, and then coat this in plastic to protect it from moisture. This method should only be used in conjunction with an existing plastic cat cover; otherwise moisture will seep into the cardboard and turn it to mush.

Cats can make wonderful loving pets. They are fairly self sufficient, and don’t require much attention. However, they are still animals, and will be oblivious to the beauty of your home. In order to maintain the look of your setting, while maintaining the safety of your pet, you will have to plan the décor that you develop in your home. Every cat is different, so let your home evolve with the pet, until you reach a stasis in which safety and beauty are at their best.

Out of all the choices, my favorite is the wireless 2.4 GHz
clock radio nanny cam, which just happens to be the best
seller at our store.

Here’s the reason I like the clock radio so much:

1.) This Nanny Cam has three great uses — It’s a nanny
cam, its a clock, and it’s also a fully functioning radio!

2.) When the clock radio nanny cam is plugged in, the camera
is always on, even if you turn the radio off.

3.) The clock radio has natural “Domestic Camouflage” - in
other words, it blends into a room without being noticed,
even by people familiar with the room. If you put up a new
wall clock or put a new teddy bear on a bedroom shelf,
people will immediately realize that something new has been
added. On the other hand, a clock radio nanny cam will go
unnoticed 9 out of 10 times.

4.) The wireless clock radio nanny cam is “Location
Neutral” — This is just a fancy way of saying that you can
put this camera anywhere! How about on a kitchen countertop,
or in the family room, or on a bedside stand in the bedroom?
See what I mean? There are very few places where a clock
radio looks out of place.

5.) A clock radio that has a Sony CCD camera gives you a
crystal clear image. I prefer a CCD to a CMOS camera because
of its superior performance.

6.) The clock radio, providing it has quality components,
has enough range to transmit video through walls to the far
end of your house without compromising image quality.

7.) A clock radio with a lux rating of 0.05 or lower
performs well under low light conditions. A nanny cam with a
lux rating of 1.0 or higher produces a poor and grainy image
in dim lighting. Let’s face it; a nanny cam that won’t
allow you to see what’s going on in a room with low light
is almost worthless.

8.) A good clock radio nanny cam is usually equipped with a
3.7 mm lens which provides a great wide angle view of the
room.

9.) A clock radio can be placed almost anywhere in the room
which allows you to position it for the best view. A teddy
bear, book, humidifier, or any of the other nanny cams have
natural restrictions on where you can place them.

10.) This Nanny Cam uses a.c. power and looks natural
plugged into the wall. No need to disguise power cords or
worry about batteries. In most instances you’ll be using
the nanny cam for extended periods of time. Batteries
usually only last about 2-3 hours. To use a teddy bear cam
or a book cam for this length of time you have to use the
a.c. power adapter. Don’t you think an “Electric Teddy
Bear” might look suspicious?
