Finding Your Authentic Path

Auto Date Thursday, October 30th, 2008

“Deep in their roots, all flowers keep the light.” ~ Theodore Roethke

The last of the lazy, hazy days of summer are upon us. Gardens are in full bloom reminding us that there is no holding back when living an authentic life to the fullest.

Nature has no choice but to do what is natural. Just as the bud must surrender to its own internal code to bloom; we must surrender to the unfolding that is always happening in our lives. While we can’t control what happens to us or to those we love, we do have control over our responses and reactions. Our authentic power resides in our ability to choose.

We are all rich in opportunities to exercise choice. We choose hundreds of times a day: what to wear, which route to drive to work, whether to exercise or not, coffee or tea….. We can choose to play it safe for the rest of our lives or we can answer the invitation of our soul to embrace every experience as an opportunity for growth.

Each of us has a unique path to walk on this earth. Many of us spend alot of energy trying to find our path. We search for it and wonder where it could be. Feeling lost is a common experience. Yet, thinking too much, overanalyzing, and intellectualizing keeps us from sensing our path, which is often right under our noses, waiting patiently to be discovered.

Relying on your own internal guide for direction may seem like a daunting responsibility however, by choosing to develop a strong inner ali for guidance and direction you empower yourself.

Like the DNA that makes up our bodies, we all possess a divine imprint and purpose for our lives. We need to trust that, like breathing, our purpose is within our reach.

Begin to look at all of your experiences as important life lessons that serve to bring you further along your authentic path so that you might fulfill your greatest purpose and dreams.

Imagine, for a moment, if we lived in a world where the trees held back their leaves or the sun decided not to rise each morning. We would all experience a very different existence.

This isn’t the time for holding back or worrying about the future. I think you would agree that we are experts at that. Now is the time for letting go and remembering what you already know deep in your roots.

Million Dollar Homepage — How a 21-year old made $1 mil on the Internet

Auto Date Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make $1,000,000 in a relatively short amount of time using the Internet? Well, this HAS actually happened! A 21-year-old british man named Alex Tew has successfully made his first million on the Internet. On one night of August, Alex was thinking about ways to raise money so he could pay his university tuition fees as he wanted to study Business Management. After taking down some random notes, the idea just popped in his head!

As Alex himself admitted, he was broke and had to find money so as to avoid graduating with a huge student debt. So he started brainstorming on ways to make money. According to him, the basic ingrediants of a successful idea are the following: First, the idea must be simple. Second, it must be able to attract interest from the media. And third, it must have a cool name. And this is how the Million Dollar Homepage project was born. It is essentialy a web page that has 1 million pixels for sale, for $1 each. You can buy pixels in blocks of 100 or more and put any image you want in that space, along with a link to your site.

When the Million Dollar Homepage first started, Alex sold the first pixels to family and friends and when he managed to raise $1,000 he send a press release to BBC. This is how the project took off and generated a huge amount of traffic. In the months that followed, Alex sold all of the remaining pixels and managed to actually make $1 million from this very simple idea! Not only that, but the page got so much traffic that most advertisers reported an amazing increase of visitors to their websites, some even reporting 5,000 hits per day!

Unfortunately, all pixels are sold out and there is currently no way for someone to advertise on that page, nor does Alex intend to change the content of the page in any way. And in case the title or introduction of the article mislead you, this is not an affiliate program or any other scam that promises to make you $1 million on the Internet. It was just a one-time thing, a creative idea by an individual which, amazingly enough, succeeded even beyond the wildest dreams of it’s creator.

The Amazing Entrepreneurial Clown

Auto Date Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

If you remember, last week we left off with:

“The most interesting members are yet to come.”

—————————————————————– —————

And now, lets continue:

The oldest child was Peggy. Peggy read books. No matter what else was going on around her she had her nose close to a book closing out the rest of the entire world.

Peggy never helped Millie with any chores, or the children, or anything. Maybe this is what Millie should have done so the parents would have been forced to do more of their parental duties.

Peggy was also a very selfish person. It was almost impossible to make friends with her. Later in life, I believe in 1989, I flew from Ohio to Montana where Millie and Peggy’s mother Mary, and most of the family were living for Mary’s funeral. The main reason I attended was to be a friend to Millie.

Peggy by this time had married another very selfish man and at the wake they hunted me down. Having heard through the family that I had become wealthy they were deviously trying to present in their opinion a pulchritudinous plan of how they could use $50,000 of my money. This was the first interest Peggy would have ever showed in me.

The mother was Mary. Mary seemed to be a very kind and generous women, but I could never take that as my opinion of her because of the way Millie was forced to be her slave. Mary was the largest woman I had ever seen.

Laramie was the father. He was a real clown always laughing and making jokes. Laramie was a short man and his head had a very sharp point. I think that I was told he was born at home and his head was squeezed to hard during the birth.

Laramie bragged about how he could break boards over his head. He had quite a string of experiences never having stayed with any job or enterprise very long. This was one reason he had landed at our house with no money or job. Laramie had many vices including gambling and chasing women which would lead him to leaving his family unattended or supported many times for days and months at a time.

But Laramie did have an entrepreneurial gift inside of him. He just never disciplined himself to take full advantage of it.

I think the family stayed with us about 2 weeks before Laramie found a home for them. Laramie had started walking around town getting contracts for janitorial work and rented a very large house with an office and an outside exit for his business. In no time at all Laramie and his family were living better than our family was and making a lot more money.

That part amazed me. That may be where I first got the janitorial or cleaning bug. There are so many people with talent like this that with some persistence, consistence, self discipline, planning, structure, and big thinking could easily become multi-millionaires.

Yes Laramie had done the amazing. But then he did the unthinkable.

Why Bardon from Bahrain Holidays in Chamonix Mont Blanc

Auto Date Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Chamonix ski resort is a stunning French town with the legendary Monte Bianco as well as jagged glaciers. All of us like to go walking or from time to time visiting the Aiguille du Midi. I normally get a flight from Hagerstown and stay at a Chamonix luxury catered chalet for the duration of my holiday.

I used to went to Best Value Inn And Suites Albany however it rarely met the standards of its description: For your comfort, our guestrooms have been recently renovated. Complimentary Internet access, cable TV with HBO and complimentary continental breakfast served fresh every morning. Don’t forget, kids 12 and under stay free and your furry friends are always welcome. Enjoy all that our wonderful city has to offer with numerous museums, shops, parks and historic sites, to keep you occupied all day! Goold Orchards and Mabee Farm Historic Site are great for the whole family. Recreational activities available year-round, including cross-country skiing, hiking, swimming, fishing and bird watching at any of our state parks. Nearby parks include the Pebbles Island State Park and the Pine Bush Preserve. When its time to dine, you can choose from an array of eateries just around the corner. Garcia’s Mexican restaurant and Butcher*s Block Steak and Seafood are two of many.Experience it all in comfort, when you stay at Americas Best Value Inn.

In comparison in Chamonix Haute Savoie France the self catered chalet is always excellent. Also dining out in my families’ number one hotel restaurant, Benvenuti Italian Deli & Catering, munching monster mish-mash mix is a pleasure. Chamonix Mont Blanc is a large enough town to insure that there is lots of things for the non-skier to do. With a ice rink and a plethora of shops, Chamonix provides a combination of walking, French charm and sightseeing which barely any French ski resorts can match.

Great deal 20000 dollar at a respectable rate of 14.9 percent

Auto Date Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

A lot of the banks wil show you a loan rate that looks respectable but feels poorly or so after a period of time. 14.6 percent rate of interest may seem so mediocre but will it stay unalterable after you’re going to repay your deferred payment.

You should be impertinent today to analyze if you have a bargain or if you don’t with the bank that offers you a credit loan. It doesn’t matter if you live in Miami Beach Florida or in Oak Park Illinois a proficient online inspection will unbosom you often . That’s why now you really need to check out and run across if you can have a money loan at a beneficial percent interest rate. Check out to see if the moneylender who wants to give you a bank loan is fine. A merchant bank in New Haven Connecticut or so can have a total different actual interest rate for a 10000 dollar loan then a bank in Lake Forest California and that makes a huge clear difference in your weekly pay offs. At this moment you can investigate interest rates quickly on the internet and insure if there are other possible traps you should be aware of.

A Gaggle Of Gorgeous Geese

Auto Date Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

This is another way I might describe our LIVING THE FULFILLED LIFE PROGRAMS. One of the ways we create a sense of community is with the Goose Story that follows that I believe I first heard when I was involved with Landmark Education. It’s a powerful metaphor of what’s possible when we join together in the spirit of commUNITY:

THE GOOSE STORY

Next fall, when you see Geese heading South for the Winter . . . flying along in V formation . . . you might consider what science has discovered as to why they fly that way:

As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following.

By flying in V formation the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.

PEOPLE WHO SHARE A COMMON DIRECTION AND SENSE OF COMMUNITY CAN GET WHERE THEY ARE GOING MORE QUICKLY AND EASILY BECAUSE THEY ARE TRAVELING ON THE THRUST OF ONE ANOTHER.

When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone. . . and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird in front.

IF WE HAVE AS MUCH SENSE AS A GOOSE, WE WILL STAY IN FORMATION WITH THOSE WHO ARE HEADED THE SAME WAY WE ARE.

When the Head Goose gets tired, it rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point.

IT IS SENSIBLE TO TAKE TURNS DOING DEMANDING JOBS WITH PEOPLE OR WITH GEESE FLYING SOUTH.

Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.

WHAT DO WE SAY WHEN WE HONK FROM BEHIND?

Finally . . . and this is important. . . when a goose gets sick, or is wounded by gunshots, and falls out of formation, two other geese fall out with that goose and follow it down to lend help and protection. They stay with the fallen goose until it is able to fly, or until it dies; only then do they launch out on their own, or with another formation to catch up with their group.

IF WE HAVE THE SENSE OF A GOOSE, WE WILL STAND BY EACH OTHER LIKE THAT.

“GET ME OUT OF HERE!”

Auto Date Monday, October 27th, 2008

The door slammed behind me, sealing my torment. The guards escorted me through the dimly lit halls to a small space, not even wide enough to lie down. There was a cold hard floor, a metal chair, a can, and a small metal desk. I slumped down onto the dirty chair, pondering how I got here. Only a month ago I was on the outside, free. Now I was chained up, locked up, forced to follow a regimented schedule of duties that no man should have to do. The other inmates’ sized me up with their hardened stares.

How the hell did I let this happen again? After getting out only 5 months ago, I thought I would never be back. What is it that brings a man to a place like this? Belief that he can’t do better? Maybe, at one time I actually believed this was my fate. But not anymore. I knew I could do better. This was no accident. I chose to come here this time. It was all part of “the deal”. A deal I never should have made.

After starting my own business and going through the initial phase where expenses exceed income, my wife panicked. The fear of losing money, of ending up like her parents, took control of her. But that didn’t shake me. I was solid, secure. I was committed; I was whipped. Finally I broke down and said, “What will make you happy?” The answer that followed was not a surprise at all, yet it still felt like a huge iron door had just shut me off from my dreams, from life. “Go get a job.” Was her request. The condemnation of that sentence seemed to take all hope from my success as an entrepreneur. And so was born “the deal”. I would go back to prison, willingly be locked up again, but when I made $50,000 in my business I could go free.

What a deal! And so as the hunt for the perfect prison ensued I frantically began doing everything in my power to make $50,000 with my business. I made nothing. For a month my income depleted until I was unable to afford any business expenses and was still looking for a prison to get into. But was I one to give up and submit my destiny to someone else’s idea of security? Absolutely not! Then it happened. Slowly at first, I began to understand how to make money, how to build my business, and with little or no expense at all.

About the same time the prison guards found me. In the interrogation room I tried to make it perfectly clear that I was not the man they wanted. The more I downplayed myself the more they wanted me in their prison. They practically paid me to come be an inmate for them.

And so because of the deal, I am here. There’s a funny thing about being in prison. The other inmates talk about freedom, they talk about getting out. But none of them have any plans on escaping. They have no direction, no goals, just dreams. I have this saying about that, it goes like this: When you find someone who’s really good at making excuses, you find someone who’s rarely good at doing anything else.

I don’t talk about getting out to many of the others. I have devised a plan, however. It’s already working, the route is has been set, and I’m almost free. Despite having to work 8 hours a day, do the daily chores at home, and be a good father and husband, I am making 3 times the money that this prison pays me.

I’m getting out, but what about the others. What about the talkers. Do they really want a better lifestyle enough to take a chance? Why do they submit to the torture? I realize now that this torture is self-inflicted. There is no one that can force anyone to live as a slave to their job. It’s a choice. If only more people knew that. If only more people understood how to make the choice!

The only reason they stay in prison is because they actually believe there’s no other way. It has become a society in itself. A whole culture is behind these walls. It is a culture that thinks entrepreneur=risk=failure. They think you have to work for someone else to get benefits and be successful. And a retirement fund, ooooh, now that’s something worth working for! Wake up people.

It’s almost like these people are being programmed somewhere to think this way. If I could find out where this programming and conditioning is going on, I would beat the hell out of those losers who are teaching our children this crap. Oh, wait, is it our parents, our family, those closest to us? Well I guess I won’t beat the hell out of them, so for now I work to inspire the prisoners. My purpose is to create hope, to show them that they can remove this negative programming make their desires a reality.

When I get out of this joint I’m going to teach my kids that it doesn’t pay to have a job. I’m going to teach them about personal responsibility. About making positive, powerful choices and being in control of their destiny. I never want my kids to feel the chains on their ankles and wrists.

No matter what you’ve been told, or programmed to think, the fact is you can have whatever you desire. If you learn how to think differently, to focus on your desires, to achieve your goals, then they are as good as yours. It starts with the mind, understanding how to attract that desire. Then you need to have a plan of action. That plan falls into place very easily when your mindset is right.

So what is your excuse? What negative beliefs are holding you back? Don’t you want a better lifestyle? Are you so pathetic that you’re just going to accept things the way they are now? Things are not the way they are just because. They’re that way because you made them that way. Whether you want to admit it or not, you chose the life you are now living. Go ahead, argue. But you know it’s true. You, are the only captain of your destiny. You, are the only one who can call the shots. Unless of course you surrender that right up, but even then that’s your call. So stop creating such a crappy life for yourself! Take action NOW to change your thinking, which will create positive actions, which will change your life.

I’m getting out, are you coming with me?

Compatibility, Love, and Astrology - More than just Sun Signs

Auto Date Saturday, October 25th, 2008

When it comes to astrology and compatibility there is more to it than just the compatibility of the sun signs. When it comes to the relationship between two people there is of course much more that has to do with the success or the failure of their future than astrology. But for those people that follow astrology and the sun signs, looking at the sun charts can make for interesting comparison. There are many aspects to astrology that are much more complex that they first seem. Comparing charts can sometimes seem far more complicated than beneficial. However, there are some theories that can be simplified without the use of a chart.

When you first go to an astrologer there are several pieces of information that you’re going to need to provide so that the astrologer will be able to get an accurate reading on you and your star sign personality. You’ll need to have your exact date of birth, including the time that you were born. If you don’t know that time you were born your chart won’t be quite as precise and accurate as when you have this information. The time that you were born will give the astrologer information about your ascendant and descendant axis, as well as where you are in the house placements. When your time of birth information is missing your compatibility chart won’t be very accurate. The other piece of information that you’re going to need do provide is where you were born. You many wonder what your place of birth has to do with your sun sign and astrology. This bit of information is needed so that the chart can be as complete as possible.

Once the astrologer has finished your chart you’ll have some idea as to what other astrology charts are compatible with you. This way when you meet someone you can find out what their sun sign is and see how well matched you are. Of course you should never take this too seriously, but you can however have a fun conversation over the dinner table about how compatible you are.

How to Use the Power of Words to Your Benefit - Part II

Auto Date Friday, October 24th, 2008

A friend of mine read the article, How to Use the Power of Words to Your Benefit, and dryly made the comment, “So what?”

At first it didn’t concern me, but a few days later I began thinking about his comment. I had obviously not made the point clear, and therefore I decided to expand on this concept. And that is what you are reading here.

Words, as such, have no value apart from communicating an idea, belief, or instruction to our readers. But, combine words with the mental capacity only we humans have, and the power of words become awesome.

Ok, what am I on about here?

In my first article, I briefly touched on the concept of spaced repetition. This is such a powerful and useful technique that I will expand on it here. I came across spaced repetition early in high school, and used it throughout my high school career.

It works like this: you read something (for not more than 45 minutes), then you take a break, with something totally unrelated; then you return and re-read the same material. You alternate this with reading different material, or doing something totally different, and you will be amazed at what your retention level is. I never studied for a single exam throughout high school! I only used spaced repetition.

Back to the power of words, and using spaced repetition. It is fair to say that we do not like to be negative, or feel depressed. By taking something as simple as a quote, we can improve our mental state, and thus our attitude. Reading this with spaced repetition, it becomes ingrained in our memory, and when the situation warrants it, we practically automatically retrieve it from memory.

Similar to this exercise, we can use words in the pursuit of our goals. One of the first instructions we are given by the motivational masters is write down our goal. But, what many of them forget to tell us, is how we should use this written goal. Some say we should read it at least once a day, or that we should place it where we will see it regularly.

Use your written goal with spaced repetition, and success is practically guaranteed.

I read somewhere that Anthony Robbins says more than half the people who buy his material, do not even open it! What an absolute waste. Having such valuable material in your hands, and then not even opening it, not to mention not using it.

It is a known fact that affirmations (auto-suggestion, self-suggestion) have produced incredible results by persons who use this technique. All that this is, is repeating something to yourself spaced over a period of time.

Using words with spaced repetition has an awesome power, whether it is to motivate us, encourage us, or help us reach our goal.

Make it your goal to…

Choose a quote, write (or type) it out, and make it your affirmation. Try this for 21 days and see what happens. It must be 21 days though, and don’t skip a day.

Easy Steps to Creating a Happier Life

Auto Date Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

How many days out of the week do you feel excited? Yes, how many times are you really happy? Everybody can lead an extraordinary life. Turning a so-so life into a passion filled, exciting adventure is possible. But there’s a catch: It won’t happen on it’s own. If we want excitement and the feelings of joy, inner peace, abundance and excitement, we are going to have shift our focus from everything that is going wrong and place attention on the necessity of feeling good in this moment. What makes us feel good? Having dreams and desires, a sense of purpose and direction. Most of all, feeling good occurs with connection to our own excitement. Creating a life of joy requires some basic tried-and-true principles. Follow these easy steps to open the gates of greater happiness:

Stop Doing What You Are Doing
Are you enjoying life? Are you happy in your work, your relationships or in your own body and life? If you are not feeling joyous, happy, excited or energized, stop whatever it is you are doing or thinking about. Decide there is nothing more important than feeling good in your body in this moment. Take a few moments, sit still, breathe deeply and slowly allowing yourself time to relax. Activate the power of imagination. What would an enjoyable life look like? What thoughts and what fantasies warm your heart, feel good in your core center and invite your spirit?

Count Your Blessings
Nothing turns around our lives faster than enlarging our sense of gratitude. Counting our blessings means we make a decision to see things in a different way. Our focus of attention is shifted to what we like, what excites us. We look around our world and purposefully look for evidence of the excitement and abundance already present. Doing so allows us to connect more fully, more passionately to what we want. Reflecting on what is right with our world and with ourselves also results in higher levels of enthusiasm, determination, joy, serenity and energy. People who feel grateful also tend to feel more loved and more loving.

Self-appreciation
To allow good things into our life, we must find ourselves deserving. Self-appreciation is the decision we make to consciously reprogram ourselves to believe we are deserving. Living life in love and joy means being our own best friend, becoming unwavering supporters of ourselves. The words we speak to ourselves are powerful. They can elevate us into greatness and joy or plummet us into despair. They seldom have little or no consequence. Once they’ve been spoken, even internally, they can not be called back. Internal criticism is harmful. It is abusive. Even when we fall short of our own expectations, we don’t deserve abusive mental punishment. This style of self-persecution is definitely not self-loving behavior. It doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t lead to a happier life. We are deserving of feeling good in our bodies, worthy of focusing on excitement, worthy of receiving blessings and abundance. Self-appreciation opens the doors to receiving more success, abundance, miracles and joy.

Clarity
We often ask, “What is my purpose on earth?” Our purpose is to create with joy. Not just one big dream and then we’re done. But, over and over again, creating the next dream or desire which rises up from within. With absolute honesty, ask what is it you really, really want. If you don’t know the answer or you’re getting too expansive and elusive, focus on something small and attainable. “I want to feel good organizing my house” is as important as “I want to create a successful business.” Life feels good when we take charge of deciding what we want, and then go through the steps of being excited about effecting change in our lives. The entire process of creating is the purpose of life. Not chasing or pushing at goals. But imagining what is wanted, feeling excited about what is being imagined and allowing the energy of excitement to provide the motivation for action. Having a vision also provides direction. It allows us to zoom upwards and see the big picture when little picture of life gets difficult. Having a vision keeps us true to ourselves, our passion and our joy.

Envision Success
Instead of constantly worrying and stressing, spend time envisioning what is wanted and desired. Enjoy the physical sensations excitement. See yourself in your ideal home, decorated exactly the way you want it look and feel. Touch the magnificent walls and artwork, breathe in the ambiance, feel the safety and comfort. Visualize abundance, your ideal career or a healthy and active body. Picture yourself being recognized and appreciated by people. See the look of validation and respect on their faces. Every day, make the choice to spend time sitting quietly and bringing your dream to mind. Fall in love with your vision. See the details, hear how wonderful it would all be. Most of all, feel the excitement your dream generates. Imagine that excitement saturating your body to such an extent the excitement exudes outwards, touching and enhancing the lives of those you love.

Believe in Yourself
Belief is a feeling of certainty. It’s like knowing the sun will rise tomorrow morning. We don’t question whether the sun will rise, spend time worrying that it might not, or imagine the worst case outcomes. Believing in ourselves requires we focus energy and excitement on what we want. We establish a loving partnership with our dream, even though the dream doesn’t exist yet in our physical reality. We spend time imagining and loving what we want, even though there is no proof of our desire. We assume our desire will manifest, just as surely as the sun will rise again tomorrow. Believing in ourselves requires spending time with what is important to us, what feels good to us. Believing in ourselves and our dreams makes good things happen.

Expect Miracles
Expect good things to happen. Be receptive and open to good things happening. Have hopeful expectations about new opportunities. Expect good fortune and eventually it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. When you are willing to believe, really believe in miracles, then they will take place in your life. Be proactive and be on the look-out for miracles. Write them down, celebrate each one. If you find a penny on the ground, treat it as a miracle and celebrate. Every time you notice something wonderful happening, tell yourself, “I’m so blessed to receive such abundance! I love this feeling! I flow with abundance and open myself to receiving more of this feeling.”
