Profile: Intelius, Inc

Auto Date Friday, September 25th, 2009

Based in Bellevue, Washington, Intelius is one of the fastest growing companies in the Puget Sound area. The intelligence services company ranks as the state’s 8th fastest growing in a 2008 list by Deloitte & Touche. It was established in 2003 by Naveen Jain, founder of InfoSpace and former manager of The Microsoft Network (MSN).

Counting over eight million customers since its establishment, it has become one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the entire United States. Intelius is a certified member of Inc. 500, a yearly ranking of private American companies with the highest revenues. Deloitte & Touche even ranked it the 127th fastest-rising private firm in all of North America.

Winner of the 2006 Stevie (American Business Award) for Best New Company, Intelius has a massive database of public records, on which its services are mostly based. As it stands, the company largely sells personal intelligences, with information culled from dockets, tax filings, death certificates, real estate deeds, telephone listings, and all manner of public data. Consumers may use them to make informed decisions regarding the people around them, be it a new nanny, a relative, a business partner, a friend, a stranger, or a family member.

Apart from individual consumers, Intelius also caters to corporate clients, although the services themselves do not include intelligences about companies just yet. In the meantime, human resources managers can zero in on Intelius’ world-famous employment screening solutions. The company was hailed the Number 2 employment screening provider in the US by HRO Today in December 2008. It has a comprehensive array of employee screening solutions, including drug tests and tenancy screens.

Besides employments screens, Intelius also offers people searches, background checks, criminal checks, date checks, reverse phone lookups, identity theft protection, property reports, neighborhood reviews, email lookups, cell phone caller IDs, and many other similarly valuable services.
