Tabletop fountains and feng shui applications go way back. It has been well-established in feng shui community that a well-fashioned tabletop fountain draws prosperity and abundance in one’s life. If used falsely and unsuitably, a tabeltop fountain can cause more damage than good.

Here are the top 3 feng shui faults to avert when handling with a tabletop fountain:

1. At any cost, avert placing the tabletop fountain on right-hand side of the door. By placing the water fountain on the “right” side, infidelity is attracted in one’s life. Your partner may potentially deceive you. right-hand side denotes to the side that is adjacent to your right-hand hand when you face at the door from inside of the house.
2. There should be a strong co-relation between the size of the room in which you place the fountain the size of the fountain itself. When you choose a water fountain that is too big (e.g. a shishi odoshi) for the room size, you end up experiencing unsuitable energy because of over-optimized energy.
3. It is remarkable to pick the fountain figurines wisely. One should stay away from positioning the awful thought eliciting statuettes (e.g. a fierce looking dragon) by a tabletop fountain. Instead, choose an angel figurine, or, a happy-dragon statuette to station in the vicinity of your tabletop fountain.

There was a time in my life, a long time ago, when I felt very lonely in the world. Do you know what it is like to feel you will never be loved for who you are? To never feel truly understood? To feel that when people see you, they are not seeing the real you - and they don’t even try to see the real you. It is like the real you is invisible to everyone but yourself - and everyone thinks you are somebody you are not. To be next to a person and feel so far away… that kind of loneliness is even more lonely than being just by yourself. At least by myself, I can just be me. I can feel who I am.

I felt as if my life had no real value to anyone, and thus no value for myself. For me, this was worse than “death”, because death seems a relief from loneliness. After death, I thought, there is probably nothing - and nothing is at least less painful than loneliness. For the tears of loneliness are one of the most painful experiences I have ever felt in my life. They are not tears of the body, but those of the soul. I wondered, why live when it seems so much easier to be dead? To be born into the world with so many people, and all your life feel alone. The present and the future seemed to stretch out into one long eternity. To tell you the truth, I did think of ending my life. But my heart told me, “That is against the law of nature.” Were I to end my life, I think I would have only been creating more suffering for myself in the next life. But if an angel had come in those dark times and asked me if I wanted to leave this world, I would have gladly gone with her.

And that is how I knew I was in hell. If heaven is the place where you never want to leave, then hell must be the place where you always want to leave but can’t. The place worse than death. And for me, loneliness is such a place, and it is one such a hell. Always wanting to leave, but not knowing how, seeing no way out, and no one to save you. And this hell was inside me, and I carried it everywhere I went, all the time, unable to be free. If only an angel would come and deliver me, for I did not know how to deliver myself.

But such an angel never came. Nobody came. Nobody came to save me. Nobody came to understand. The only person in the world, it seemed, was me. I was all alone, as it had always been, and seemed it always would be.

And in this darkness, I saw the only way out into the light… love. Love can save you. Love is the only way out of hell. Not someone loving you, because you can never expect anybody to love you. But you loving someone else. If no one loves you, at least you can love someone else. Love, without expecting love in return. There are others who are suffering in the hell of loneliness - love them so they need not suffer as you have suffered. Live so that others need not experience the hell you have experienced. A gentle eye, a kind word, a helping hand, a patient ear, a generous smile… these are the free acts of love you can give to ease the suffering of others. These acts of love take away loneliness - both their loneliness and yours. And they add to love - both theirs and yours.

I can’t guarantee anyone will ever love you back in the way you need to be loved. Love is always a choice, made freely by people and by fate. But I can guarantee that the love you choose to give freely, returns to you freely to live inside your heart. As love lives, so you live in love. For in the love you give to others, lies the seed of heaven. The hell of loneliness you once felt gradually fades away into the past. Love has the power to transform hell into heaven.

If you don’t understand any of this, then you are lucky, because you have not experienced the hell of loneliness, and so do not understand its language. Perhaps you live surrounded by love - or perhaps you feel you do not need love. But if you do understand the hell of loneliness, then know you are not alone. I know it may seem no one cares, but I care. That is why I write this for you. To let you know that you are not as alone as you may believe. And you need not envy those who never seem to have been lonely, for you are lucky too.

Yes, you are lucky too, even though you may not see it now. You are lucky because you have the chance to be stronger than others, for true strength is born from the ability to accept and overcome weakness. You have the chance to not fear death, for those who have been to hell no longer fear death. The chance to know how to love, for those who have never been loved have no choice but to love others - or die. The chance to always carry and feel love inside your heart, for that is the beginning and ending place of all love. To be a true survivor, for only those who have suffered can be said to have survived, and it is only the survivors who can become the true leaders. It is you who are lucky, because you have the chance to gain the power to transform hell into heaven, for only those who have been to hell can transform it into heaven.

“My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have struck hands in pledge for another, if you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth” (Proverbs 6:1-2).

Herod is a perfect instance of being ensnared by what he said: “…The daughter of Herodias…pleased Herod so much that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked” (Matthew 14:6,7). Herod was trapped by what he promised, and he regretted it later: “The king was distressed but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted…” (v.9). Because of a foolish oath made by a proud man, John lost his life. It would have been a far less sin if Herod broke his promise.

We should not promise what we cannot deliver. The Bible covers every occasion for every age, and this verse surely applies to credit cards. It is too easy to pull out our credit card when we want something (mea culpa!). We are putting up security for ourselves every time we go beyond our means with an innocent looking piece of plastic, so it’s best to cut it up and out if we are constantly tempted with this particular snare. And we surely are drowning when we borrow from one credit card to pay on another one!

Accumulating bills and obligations controls us so that, in our worry, we can serve neither God nor others. “…But the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful” (Mark 4:19). It is wisdom to keep a rein on both finances and obligations before they get beyond us. We can live and die entangled in the cares of this world because we haven’t been prudent. We also bring reproach upon religion if we live and die in others’ debt.

This verse might also apply to appeals. Others ask us to do things for them that are beyond our time and means but, because we want others to like us, we have a difficult time saying no. It isn’t fair to them or us to say yes, and then be resentful. In a way, we have been dishonest when we take on more than we can possibly do or pay.

As for thinking we are doing others a favor by always doing for them, it is far better to teach someone how to fish than to be constantly supplying the fish for him/her. We don’t help others by making them dependent on us. Every age has its prodigals who would just as soon sit by and take everything you give. Prudence dictates just when we must quit pouring time and money down another’s bottomless pit.

Does this mean we can never become surety, or bail, for another? “If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me…I will pay it back…” (Philemon 18,19). Martin Luther said of these verses: “Even as Christ did for us with God the Father, thus Paul also does for Onesimus with Philemon.” Of course there will be instances when our help will be needed. What is condemned is entanglement to the point of incapacitation. “You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men” (1 Corinthians 7:23).

Russell Conwell helped to transform a night school in a church basement in Philadelphia into Temple University. He did it by retelling a story that was told to him while in a camel caravan in Mesopotamia. It was a story about Al Hafed, a very wealthy farmer in ancient Persia. Al Hafed was living his dream life until one day a Buddhist priest visited him and during their conversation told him how the world was formed.

The old priest also told Al Hafed about diamonds and that if he had a handful of diamonds he could purchase a whole country. With a mine of diamonds he could place his children upon thrones through the influence of their great wealth.

That night Al Hafed went to bed a poor man — not that he had lost anything. He was poor because he was discontented and discontented because he thought he was poor. After a sleepless night, he arose early the next morning and told the priest of his desire to be immensely rich. After a lengthy conversation the priest told him that he would find diamonds in a river that runs over white sand between high mountains. Al Hafed sold his farm, collected his money, left his family in the charge of a neighbor, and began his search for diamonds.

After years of exhaustive search throughout Palestine and across Europe, penniless, ragged and wretched, he threw himself into the incoming tide off the coast of Spain never to rise again.

In the meantime, back at the farm, Al Hafed’s successor, while giving his camel a drink from the stream that ran through the property, found a black stone with an eye of light that reflected all the colors of the rainbow. The stone turned out to be a diamond. And so were discovered the diamond mines of Golconda, the most magnificent diamond mines in the history of mankind; exceeding the Kimberley mines in value. Had Al Hafed remained at home and in his own garden, instead of wretchedness, starvation, poverty and death in a strange land, he would have had “acres of diamonds.” Every shovelful of that old farm has since revealed the gems which have decorated the crowns of monarchs.

The most amazing and tragic element of this story is the fact that we have so many modern day Al Hafeds wandering around looking for their acres of diamond everywhere except in the backyard of their own mind.

Change your Perspective

One of the valuable lessons taught by this incredible story is one of perspective. How do you see yourself? The gem stones are the attitudes you develop over time as a result of seeing YOUR world more clearly. When you see yourself more clearly, you see yourself as someone who is valuable and has limitless potential. This leads to high self esteem and high expectations which are the cornerstones for high achievement. This perspective also motivates you and compels you to act with a clearly defined purpose.

Opportunities are dressed in work clothes

Your greatest opportunities lie under your own feet. They lie in your intellect, your talent and abilities, your education and experience, as well as with your family members, friends and business contacts. The challenge is that in the rough, a diamond does not look like a diamond that we are familiar with. It looks like a black, rough piece of rock and must be cut, shaped and polished repeatedly before it glistens like the valuable stone that it is.

The Al Hafeds of today are waiting around for their opportunities to turn up. They are looking for the easy way; the six numbers in the lotto or an inheritance from a long lost relative they’ve never even heard of. They fail to realize that their acres of diamonds represent an opportunity for them to learn and work hard for a long period of time, honing and developing their skills so that they can build a career or business and eventually have everything they want.

Your area of excellence

Each and every one of us have the ability to be excellent at something. What can you be excellent at? It is your responsibility to find it. You may have a knack for singing. Perhaps it’s teaching or sports. Whatever it is, know that ability is latent until it’s developed. You may have all the potential in the world, but the marketplace will only pay your performance not your potential. J.K. Rowlings is now the richest woman in the UK, but ten years ago she was on welfare. Her latent talent was in writing and through her writing she began to mine the nuggets of diamonds that were abundant in her mind. Harry Potter became her Golconda mines. Remember, the diamonds lie inside us waiting to be mined, cut and polished.

Before we are able to use the Universal Thought System in a positive expansive manner, we must learn to use certain words in our language more effectively. The prime characteristic of the Universal Thought System is its consistency. It may not be used to manipulate. It may not be used to gain an advantage. It treats everyone equally. It eliminates the negative side of opposites. Why is this Universal Language so critical to our progress? In our thoughts and actions, we either seek idols or we seek truth. When we find the truth all our answers are provided. Truth contains all answers to every problem. Truth has always existed and will always exist. Our beliefs and feelings color our truth. They act as filters between our truth and our illusions.

If absolute truth is discovered, the filters disappear. In truth there is only love. In love there is only truth. There is no need for filters. The use of keywords help to reveal the path to truth. They clear the filters. They clarify our perceptions. They reduce the effects of our illusions. We discover peace and joy. What are some of the keywords that make up our Universal Thought System Language? In a series of ezines we will list and define some of the keywords in the Universal Thought System

Present:
The only time that intersects with eternity is the present. Now, is the only time that is real. The past is only a memory. The future has not arrived. Therefore, the more often we can focus our mind in the present, the better we can manifest what we want in the future. When we focus in the present our energy is more concentrated. We are connected. When our thoughts are on the
past or on the future we are not connected.

Oneness:
We are all one. We are made of the same stuff. We are Universal Energy. Our thoughts travel though the oneness that we are. This is part of the explanation of why what we give is what we receive. Through our thoughts what we give to others we give to ourselves. We can not see our oneness because it is masked by
the separation in our individual lives.

Beliefs:
Our beliefs, along with our feelings, are the filters and conductors that modify the energy passing through us. They behave much like resistors, capacitors, and transistors behave in electrical circuits. They modify the electrical current that
passes through them to achieve the goals that we really can accept. They protect us from an oversupply of energy. The particular circuit created by the series of beliefs that a person holds accounts for much of their uniqueness. Beliefs provide protection from what our minds can not yet accept.

Feelings:
When we think it is very important to be aware of what we feel. Feelings communicate the positive or negative energy in our thoughts. When we communicate inwardly to access universal energy, our feelings can either aid or interfere. If we feel
negative about what we are communicating those feelings will interfere. If we feel positive about what we are communicating the feelings will aid the communication. The feelings are very easy to detect and to evaluate. Most often, they are right in
the pit of our stomachs.

Creating a New Vision for the 21st Century

No, already you are perfect. Yet it is only those negative energy blockages which are corrupting your system which are preventing your psychic powers and your ability to perform.

All the therapies and spiritual techniques, some of which are named above and used successfully for thousands of years are only used to remove the veils of the selfish competitive ego which prevent the light of the psychic vision entering into your psychic eyes.

The little or personal self, the corrupt mind containing negative and self sabotaging thoughts, psychic viruses, negative programming must be refined or de-bugged and not in a little way. ALL of the negative programming must be removed by a constant and steady devotion.

As it says in The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Enlightenment comes after spiritual practise, for a long time, constantly and with entheosiasm.

Bhagavad Gita CH11 V55 Whoever desires release from all pain and troubles through access to the highest energies and thus completely devotes himself to this task. Who offers all his actions to that higher task, who sheds all personal and selfish attachments and feelings of ill will towards any other person, creature or thing, Arjuna that person surely enters into me.

These are some of the tests or proofs of enlightenment so you can see how well you are doing. Seeing yourself clearly leads to humility.

Remember, you are 99% perfect, but seeing that one percent of imperfection clearly, can lead to the removal of that imperfection. There is no failure, only feedback!

Do not take anything personally. Remember you can expect and depend on people who are unenlightened to act in an unenlightened way unless by your skill, you can avoid that. And the Mastery of this low energy plane comes from the skill with which YOU work!

Put your trust in God but tether our camel!

This week I did a radical thing. I bought a newspaper.

I bought it to read about the events happening in London. I lived there for many years and have friends I love there. It has a very special place in my heart.

We now live in a world where small numbers of people can cause havoc and create fear within the hearts of so many. This is now particularly true of people living in major cities of the world. Individually, we might wonder what the world is coming to. Individually, we may think that there is little or nothing we can do.

There are those in the world who will tell you that the present situation is a prelude to Armageddon. These are those who are caught in the illusion that the only reality is that of time and space.

They will tell you that there is to be a wonderful rapturous moment when the world will end on a day called “Judgement Day.” Then God will make it all OK by punishing the bad guys and gals.

This is not going to happen.

This denies the responsibility we each have to wake up. Without accepting individual responsibility we fail to see, as the beautiful Julian of Norwich reminds us, “that all is well and all manner of things shall be well.” This is the seeing of the one who knows.

Do not despair of terror in its many forms.

It is a symptom of our degree of separateness from the real world. The outer world is a manifestation of how much we have lost contact with our inner world. Yet there is much beauty in the world if we will choose to see it moment to moment.

I am not one who thinks there is little or nothing that can be done to stem the tide of violence.

I know how much any one of us can do. To think we can do nothing means we create exactly that. Each of us can do so much to change the present situation. Each of us has the responsibility to change the present situation. I use the word responsibility in its real sense. This is “the ability to respond.” This ability is often frozen by fear and anxiety about the future.

We are beings of light. We are beings of knowing and beings of eternity.

Our real work in this world of time and space is to make matter conscious. It is to bring the experience of heaven to earth now. It is to realise the experience of heaven within. This does not mean that we all learn to be “nice” people. It does not mean we walk around being like Miss Goody Two Shoes.

It means we have the courage to know and feel who we are in essence this very moment.

When you know and feel who you are “nice” goes out the window. You transcend ideas of duality. You realise that you are simply graced the blessing of being love in action. You become surrendered to the will of the Beloved.

You become totally responsible and able to respond to the world. You do not despair although you will be pained by the suffering that human beings visit upon themselves and each other.

The real wound that is in this world of time and space is the sense that we are separate from love. This is not the sentimental attachment often sung in songs or written about in romantic novels. This is the experience of love as spoken about by the mystics of all religious traditions and none. To glimpse this world of mystery is to see through the glass brightly.

As the wonderful mystic Ralph Waldo Trine reminds me

“If you would find the highest, the fullest and the richest life that not only this world but that any world can know, then do away with the sense of separateness of your life from the life of God.”

Use whatever word for God that you feel comfortable with.

I use the word “Love” or the word “Beloved.” The later reminds me that it is an instruction. I am instructed to “BE-LOVE-D.” I take this instruction sincerely. It reminds me that this is our true nature. It reminds me that despite all appearances there is one thing that will not change.

This is the reality that Love is eternally now. What needs to change is our individual knowing of this experience. This experience of knowing is not the same as belief. This knowing is beyond belief because it is so radically transformational. When you know there is no need for belief.

This week remember in your hearts all those who suffer outrage at the hands of others in whatever form. Remember that those who perpetrate these outrages are lost in the mist of separateness from love.

Love has its own laws. These do not operate solely in the sphere of time and space. The law of love operates in the realm of the timeless. Anyone who transgresses this law must pay the price. This is not because they are judged “good” or “bad” but because this is the law. This is the real law and no individual overrides it.

Those who are outraged may change the nature of the world in this realm of time and space. They cannot, however, change that which is eternal. They cannot change the reality that God is LOVE. They can change the form of energy but they can never destroy it.

I want to leave you with the beauty of Islam.

I lived in England during what were known as “the troubles.” As someone from Northern Ireland there were times I felt isolated and alone. This was because following bomb outrages in English cities all Irish and Northern Irish people were suspected terrorists

This is the power of labelling. It is important at this time that we are vigilant in how we judge others of different nationality, religion or any other way that increases our illusion of separateness from each other.

On my altar at home I keep the poetry of Jelaluddin Rumi (1207-1273).

He is my favourite mystic. His is the true Islam. He is the surrendered one. This is from the wonderful book translated by Coleman Barks entitled “Birdsong.” I love the fact that this is the top selling poetry book in the U.S.A.

“Love lit a fire in my chest
and anything that wasn’t love
left: intellectual subtly, philosophy,
books, school.

All I want now to do
Or hear is poetry.”

Rumi.

In this poem Rumi use the word “poetry” as the metaphor for the experience of non-separateness from love.

This week in which outlaws from love have chosen to express their outrage on others remember that the Blessing is already here. You are it if only you take courage and would know.

It is important that each of us do not succumb to fear. In this world of time and space we have the blessing of free choice. We act from fear or we act from love. It is for each of us to learn how to respond and accept the total responsibility of love in action.

This is why we are incarnated here on this beautiful planet. When we learn this lesson we see beyond the mist of illusion. We get to glimpse the wonder of being here now. This is forever enough.

Know that this transcends anything that will ever be perpetrated through terror.

As you probably know, a horoscope is a map of the heavens at the time you were born. Your horoscope shows the astrologer what signs your planets are in. It reveals all your tendencies, attitudes, frustrations, talents and life purpose. And a lot more!

But you don’t need to figure this out to find out what your Mars means. Just ask an
astrologer.

Let’s say I looked at your horoscope and found out that your Mars is in the sign of
Cancer. Here’s an easy way to understand this:

Mars= passion and desire to take action

Cancer= a sign that relates to food, baking, bread, real estate, home,
family, stomach, mothering and nurturing

Now, put some of these meanings together with Mars and you will come up with
some things you really have a passion for. Then you simply ask “Which one of these
things, that relate to my passion, do I feel the strongest about?”

You might say that you have a strong passion for cabinetmaking, which relates to
building homes. Or you could have a strong passion for real estate or running a
bakery. In any case, your Mars in Cancer shows that your passion is strongly related
to the areas of life that relate to that sign.

Here’s another example:

Your Mercury is in Aquarius. Mercury= thinking and communications.
Aquarius= relates to advanced technology, computers, aircraft, space
travel, astrology, engineering, musical composition and friendships.

If you have your Mercury in Aquarius, you will always approach information from a
technical or advanced level of awareness. The Aquarian signs imparts a keen ability
to look beyond the obvious and seek out radical forms of expression. Some of our
greatest pioneers, inventors, and composers had Mercury in Aquarius.

If your Mercury is in Aquarius, all of this will make sense to you.

Don’t you find it quite remarkable that the heavens can reveal so much information
about you?

Let’s take one more example.

Your Venus is in Leo. Venus= appreciation, attraction, what you like.
Leo= sign of the arts, creativity in all forms, love, romance, sports,
theater, painting music, the heart, and children.

If your Venus is in Leo, you are truly a romantic. You love the game of love, playing
the field, and expressing yourself creatively. You have a loving heart and you want
to impart that feeling to others.

When you combine the planets with the signs, think of the planet as desire and the
sign as an attitude. Then your horoscope will begin to make sense to you.

Obviously, your horoscope is far more complex than this, but I have shown you in a
very simple way how the planets and signs reveal who you are.

Flying Stars or Fei Xing is a powerful form of Feng Shui derived from the famous Xuan Kong Fengshui. Concentrate on consolidating the existing setup and do not attempt expansion or diversification.

Hang a large sized natural, original Chinese Sacred Kalabash or Hoo-Loo on the innerside of your main door alongwith a golden, metal Wou-Lou, a string of 6 I-Ching Coins and a Wind Chyme. Keep the statue of Kuan Kung alongwith a pair of Chi-Lins straight opposite your main door, facing it. Do not display any moving water features (like Fish Aquariums, Water Fountains, etc.) here, in this year. Avoid redecorating or renovating this part of the house this year. Do not even drive nails or drill in the West walls. It is also not advisable to sit or sleep for extended periods, near your main door. Minimise the colours of red and yellow.

If your bedroom falls in this sector, misunderstandings could even lead to seperation. Display the combined statue of Dragon & Phoenix in the bedroom to minimise the problem.

If your kitchen is located in this sector, food poisoning, digestion, abdomenal problems and grave fire accidents could happen. Tape a set of 3 large sized Trigram Coins onto the bottom of the slab or cupboard seating the stoves. Hang a Wind Chyme just outside your kitchen door.

This is not a good year for getting married or to concieve. If pregnant, be prepared to face complications during the delivery. There could be some threats to children’s safety. Poor academic luck this year. Money and property loss through theft can happen. Install a good security system and invest on insurance for your household articles. Health problems could get serious for some family members. Do not self-diagonise and self-prescribe medications, but seek professional medical help.
