Poker TV

Auto Date Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

I have long been one of those people that complained that there are too many online poker shows on TV. Not that I don’t enjoy watching poker online on TV. I remember watching broadcasts of the U.S. World Championships late night on ESPN, before the advent of the hole cam, when the announcers had to guess what hands the players had. And certainly, Chris Moneymakers amazing run in the 2003 World Series of Poker was exciting television. But there’s just way too many poker shows on TV now, and they’re all virtually the same.

That said, I came across an interesting poker show that at least tries to dome some different and interesting. High stakes Poker has a unique format, as it doesn’t take place in a tournament setting, but rather is just a high stakes cash game among poker pros. It also has a number of well-known internet players, such as Tom Dwan, as regulars. The show has a more casual feel, with players making side wagers and changing rules as they go along. If you ever see it on TV, it’s worth a watch. You may pick up some tricks for when you sign up for Everest Poker telecharger.

The Popularity of Poker

Auto Date Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

A lot of people are wondering if we will start seeing a “renaissance” of sorts in the poker online world, with the field size of tournaments getting smaller and pros winning most of the events. Now certainly, even if the supposed “poker online boom” is over, the game is still popular enough that tournaments at rooms like Everest Poker will never go back down to the size they were in the 1970’s, oe even 1995 when there were 273 entrants in the World Series of Poker main event. But I think the second point, about more pros winning the big events rather than amateurs, may start to happen again. Since 2002, when Robert Varkonyi, every WSOP winner has been an amateur, or at least semi-amateur. But I think as the size of tournaments shrinks a bit to more reasonable levels, there will be more pros winning major events. Certainly, the first WSOP main event that a big time name, such as Daniel Negreneau or Phil Ivey, wins it will be a big story. I for one am pulling for something like that to happen. It will always make televised poker that much more exciting. I know I would be watching.

Feeler Bets in Tourneys vs Cash Games

Auto Date Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Feeler Bets in Tourneys vs Cash Games By B. Butler A commonly employed betting strategy particularly when betting on the flop or turn is to fire a little “feeler” bet out into a pot in order to give your poker opponent something to respond to. Rather than betting large or checking, a feeler bet forces the pokeropponent to make a decisive action: call, raise, or fold, thereby allowing information to be revealed about the nature of their hand. The nature of this kind of poker online betting, though, has a very different implication in tournament and cash game poker. Because in cash games the reloading is unlimited in potential, feeler bets mean less within the economy of chips. You can always respond to feeler bets in large ways and have less long term effects, beyond losing money on that one hand. In tournaments, however, where the amount of chips is limited, every chip is weighed a little heavier, making feeler bets often a more black and white kind of response. Players may be less willing to toss little feeler calls than they are to either raise and commit or fold, making your feeler work more the way it is supposed to. Therefore, using feeler bets in controlled tourney situations seems more appropriate, whereas in cash games they might be just fodder for the sharks.

How to Observe Mother, Grandma and the Adult Females in Your Life

Auto Date Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Mamas are such stars! Breakfast in bed and blooms are a staple on Mom’s Day, but that’s just the start. It genuinely is the idea that depends on this holiday, and these themes are both sincere and fun ways to observe mum on her day. Don’t forget a handmade card and heaps of love!

The beaded bouquet is very simple to do and one of various special Mother’s Day ideas to do unitedly with your youngsters. You can genuinely get fanciful with the choice of beads and the unique colors and textures. Enjoy! Evaluate and trim elastic thread to a length that will gird glass, plus some inches to tie off. Thread first group of beads on elastic thread, test for fit and tie off. Now you can pre-cut a number of pieces of thread and continue threading until vase is completely covered. Fill vase two-thirds full with water and floral preservative. Cut stems of blooms (here I employed lisianthus) to correct length so that the blossoms sit just at the top of the rim of the glass. Continue until the vase is full.
Sandwiches are so outmoded. Wow your Mom with an eye-catching and palate-pleasing chopped salad. Our recommendation is the BBQ Pork Salad with Summer Fruits & Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette. If you prefer, you can substitute the pork with BBQ chicken breast or drop the grapefruit. Then, whip up a Brazilian Lemonade. The deceptively-named drink is actually a limeade, which plays well off the flavor of the BBQ chicken or pork in the salad.
