Auto Date Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Snowboarding holidays in Patagonia? What kind of holiday is that? Is not Argentina mainly about rivers than about snowboarding? Genuinely not. South America is a continent which stretches from the equator down to Patagonia close to the northern of Antarctica. By the spine of Chile are found the Andes. They’re amongst the most grand ranges in the globe and moreover as the mountain chain passes through the tropics, the peaks are amazingly snowcapped. Therefore why not bear it in mind as a new place for your corporate ski trip.

America’s top snowboarding resorts are in Patagonia in Chile with awesome snowboarding offers. In the central Andean regions of of Chile and Argentiuna one will be able to locate a lot of snowboarding towns. The most notable skiing town in South America is addressed by many Little Schweiz and whenever you visit you’ll suppose you are in Suisse with the glorious Schweiz homes. The snowboarding area has chalets, a sports centre, bars, and everything to insure a perfect ski trip. The largest skiing domain in South America is in Chile. Placed scarcely 37 kilometers from the Santiago’s airport you will be able to arrive there on a quick trip having flown in non-stop from numerous cities as well as New York, Lyon, Dallas, London and Manchester.

Mysteries, Warm Waters, Tamales and Mexico

Auto Date Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Did you ever dream to spend a romantic anniversary on board of a fancy cruise ship? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to visit Mexico but never managed to plan something in order to get the best out of a limited vacation time…Imagine yourself visiting the mysterious Maya sites, then eating traditional Mexican food in a fancy resort on the Mayan Riviera, while at night you are relaxing in your fancy cabin or dancing the night away. This is all possible if you choose to experience a Mexico cruise. Along with interesting excursions, the cruises also offer a lot of opportunities to spend fun time on board: bars, clubs, discos, shopping arenas, spas, fitness center are all there to help you relax. So why don’t you just do a bit and research about your destination before you leave so that you’ll know what to expect. The best thing about cruises is that you don’t need to go during a particular season. No one wants to be stuck in a hotel during a tropical storm, right? If you take a cruise, you won’t even know a storm is looming around because the ships prefer to avoid the storm rather than face it. The itinerary might change a bit but it surely beats being stuck in a place watching the storm. For example Expedia offers a large array of cruises. Make sure to read about them and compare the facilities and excursions offered. Cruises tend to please everyone, from those looking for a romantic anniversary or honeymoon to those wanting to spend an active vacation.

Why Bardon from Bahrain Holidays in Chamonix Mont Blanc

Auto Date Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Chamonix ski resort is a stunning French town with the legendary Monte Bianco as well as jagged glaciers. All of us like to go walking or from time to time visiting the Aiguille du Midi. I normally get a flight from Hagerstown and stay at a Chamonix luxury catered chalet for the duration of my holiday.

I used to went to Best Value Inn And Suites Albany however it rarely met the standards of its description: For your comfort, our guestrooms have been recently renovated. Complimentary Internet access, cable TV with HBO and complimentary continental breakfast served fresh every morning. Don’t forget, kids 12 and under stay free and your furry friends are always welcome. Enjoy all that our wonderful city has to offer with numerous museums, shops, parks and historic sites, to keep you occupied all day! Goold Orchards and Mabee Farm Historic Site are great for the whole family. Recreational activities available year-round, including cross-country skiing, hiking, swimming, fishing and bird watching at any of our state parks. Nearby parks include the Pebbles Island State Park and the Pine Bush Preserve. When its time to dine, you can choose from an array of eateries just around the corner. Garcia’s Mexican restaurant and Butcher*s Block Steak and Seafood are two of many.Experience it all in comfort, when you stay at Americas Best Value Inn.

In comparison in Chamonix Haute Savoie France the self catered chalet is always excellent. Also dining out in my families’ number one hotel restaurant, Benvenuti Italian Deli & Catering, munching monster mish-mash mix is a pleasure. Chamonix Mont Blanc is a large enough town to insure that there is lots of things for the non-skier to do. With a ice rink and a plethora of shops, Chamonix provides a combination of walking, French charm and sightseeing which barely any French ski resorts can match.

  • Excited about Italy (well, wouldn’t you be?)

Auto Date Thursday, June 26th, 2008

I’m so excited about my upcoming trip to Italy. I’m one of those people that likes to get every last detail planned out- down to how much i can expect to pay for the taxi from the station to my hotel. I’m going to Taormina for most of the time I’m there and I’ll be staying at a few places, the Hotel Timeo to begin with (it came recommended).

There’s a great website about this fascinating little town- just search for ‘Taormina’- it’s the top hit on google. It’s been written by the local people, so no kind of corporate affiliation, and just has all the most interesting places to visit in the area. Turns out there are loads! All that aside though, I’m most looking forward to my first proper morning there (I should get in quite late the next day). I’m going to go exploring on foot and find my local coffee stop. Then I’m going to sit there and read my book and just soak up as much ‘Italy’ as I can. Really can’t wait.

Of course, one of the other main aims for this trip is for me to pick up some more Italian. I’ve been told on countless occasions that the only real way to learn this beautiful language is to immerse yourself in the country and try and soak it up through your very pores. Did I say I can’t wait?

    Los Angeles Sightseeing

Auto Date Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Like many large cities, Los Angeles is a collection of smaller towns, glued together with a grid of roads and freeways.

Roughly 60 miles across it is one of the largest cities by area in the US. Crossing from side to side can take an hour, but with freeway traffic conditions you are more likely to take at least double this time.

Downtown LA is more of a commercial district of skyscraper office blocks than a shopping district. You will find shopping in the form of small shopping plazas and larger shopping malls dotted all over the LA basin.

In this respect LA is a little disappointing if you were looking for an american version of London or Paris. However there is still plenty to see and do, it just takes a little planning so that you are not spending your entire time in a traffic jam or driving endless miles across city.

    Places To Visit
Here are some selected places to visit whilst in LA.

    Angeles Crest Highway
A little out of the city this scenic drive twists and turns much like Mulholland Drive along the mountainous crest of the LA basin.

    Long Beach
Home of the Queen Mary which can be toured.

    Aquarium of the Pacific
Whilst in Long Beach the Aquarium of the Pacific is definitely worth a visit. From colourful corals and tropical marine fish to California Rays that come out of the water for you to pet and stroke like small dogs! Also a new shark exhibition is worth seeing.

    Dodger Stadium
Whether going to a ball game or not, the stadium is worth a visit. Top of the Park souvenir shop sells LA Dodger branded clothing and other baseball souvenirs. Parking is free on non-game days.

    Griffith Park
A good vantage point from where you can see the cluster of skyscrapers making up the commercial downtown of LA and also the world-famous Hollywood sign.

    Hollywood Boulevard
Aside from the famous stars lining the sidewalk there is usually some form of street entertainment and always a hustle. At the Western end of Hollywood Boulevard is . . .

    Mann’s Chinese
A must-see, even if it’s much smaller in real life than you would have imagined! Famous foot/hand/etc. prints of those legendary Hollywood stars.

    Frederick’s Of Hollywood
Also on Hollywood Boulevard is Frederick’s flagship lingerie store, world-renowned. Includes a free museum of lingerie worn by stars of the silver screen

    Mulholland Drive
The famous drive that has views all over the LA basin and will introduce you to the scale of the city.

    Universal Studios
More of a theme park than studio tour, but true to the glamour and glitz of Hollywood.

    Warner Brothers
In contrast to Universal, this is a tour of a working studio. A costume museum full of fascinating history is the start of a tour that includes prop departments, workshops, sound stages, usually a chance to sit in on a TV series rehearsal in a sound stage and a chance to wander around some memorable backlot sets.

And don’t forget neighboring Orange County which is home to the quintessential Southern Californian Beach Cities of Newport Beach and Huntington Beach where life slows to the ebb and flow of the Pacific along their golden sandy shores. Or for some great shopping visit world class South Coast Plaza at Costa Mesa or the outdoor mall of Newport Beach’s Fashion Island.

    Visit the Fantastic Windsor Castle

Auto Date Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Windsor Castle is thought to be the biggest lived in castles on the globe & the eldest in continuous inhabitation (more than 900 years). It is 1 of Queen Elizabeth’s 3 authorised homes, & is tine and time again understood to be her most adored home. The Royal colours flies over the Round Tower of Windsor Castle whilst the Queen is in residence - conversely, at alternative periods, the Union Jack banner flutters instead.

Samuel Pepys once stated the Castle to be “the solitary most passionate castle around.” That was stated in 1666, and the same has been said today. Visit Windsor Castle UK today with Enjoy England.

    Windsor Castle Moving History:

The erection of Windsor lies in the seventh century Saxon parish of Windlesora, where the modern day community of Old Windsor can be located. The settlement of Windsor is properly well-known as the “New Windsor” - the word “new” being referenced in a relative way!

Windsor Castle was first put up by the illustrious William the Conqueror, on account of his invasion of England in 1066. The original frame was built from wood with earth barricades. Palace held a noticeable strategic position on a big hill high above the River Thames, and was a fraction of a number of of strongholds all around the City, with the Tower of London, one whole days walk away, at its core.

The Castle was later redesigned in stone, & rose in magnitude over the forthcoming years. More recently Henry the 2nd put up the Round Tower & the original stone outer wall. Following the English Civil War, the Castle’s crucial function became that of a royal residence. The Castle has stayed principally unaffected ever since the early nineteenth century, apart from the renovation effort following the horribly fire in 1992.

Upcoming year climber Anthony Loeff is reporting the scales for Mt Everest and Mont Blanc in France

Auto Date Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Now that Andrew Brash has successfully scaled the tallest mountain in the world, he is once again ready to focus on his family. With the Chinese preparing for the impending summer Olympic Games, Min Bahadur Sherchan noted that the government’s actions hardly reflected the Olympic spirit. As he planned for the climb, Sherchan told reporters he wanted to inspire fellow senior citizens. He also said many Nepalese have established records on the Mount Everest, so it was only fitting that the record for the oldest climber to reach the summit should also belong to a Nepali. They basically coerced the Nepali government to not allow any climbers past camp two on the Nepali side. The Chinese were flying their airplanes over Mt Everest and had Chinese officials in Kathmandu. Nevertheless, the decision to actualize a long-time personal goal left Bahadur Sherchan with some internal uncertainties, he cited the political actions of China and Nepal as providing the greatest adversity he faced on his journey. Sherchan just 19 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.

Indeed, he was all too aware of the potential dangers Chomolungma or Mount Everest could bring. Certain parts of the climb are more dangerous than others and it is important for climbers to remain focused They flexed their muscles this year all the in name of the Olympic spirit, but it was hardly spirited at all.”

Bahadur Sherchan returned this week from Nepal after successfully climbing to the summit of Chomolungma. “Everest this year became a political pawn,” he said with some frustration.

Andrew Brash last attempt resulted in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber who was left by his team in the “death zone.”

His first found him within 204 metres of the peak when his team stopped to help a fellow mountaineer who was left for dead. Two years later, Min Bahadur Sherchan, a University of Calgary alumni, returned to Mount Everest to finish what he had started.

The 76-year-old man from Nepal is now the oldest person to have reached the top of Chomolungma. Hall was frostbitten and severely disoriented due to altitude sickness. Min Bahadur Sherchan returned a hero to Calgarians. This year French climber Anthony Loeff is reporting the scales for Everest after he reached the peak of earlier this season.

Nepalese climber, 77, oldest person to conquer the summit of Mt Everest Min Bahadur Sherchan and four climbing guides reached the 29,035-foot (8,850-meters) summit of the world’s highest mountain early Sunday, said Ramesh Chretri, an official with Nepal’s ministry of tourism.

“The Chinese weren’t allowing anybody on Mount Everest. They ended up commandeering it for themselves, even though Chomolungma or Mount Everest is shared by two countries. More than 3224 people have climbed to the summit since it was first conquered in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary, who died in January, and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay.

    UK Travel Guide

    Wales

The rough beauty of Welsh landscape, with its high mountains, deep valleys, rivers, and marshes, is as well-known as the Welsh language’s lack of vowels. Wales is completely unique, with its own deep, rich history and heritage. Wales is the homeland of Arthurian legend, and any visitors interested in Camelot should visit the many landmarks in Wales associated with Arthur, including the tree where Merlin is supposed to lie sleeping. Wales is often called the land of song, and if you visit, you should not miss attending a cymanfa ganu (”singing festival”). And you should visit Tintern Abbey, made famous by William Wordsworth’s poem; Tintern is one of many (mostly ruined) abbeys, priories, and castles scattered across the Welsh countryside.

    Scotland

Where does one start? Scotland is lowlands and highlands and islands, a land of rugged rustic beauty and the intellectually-renowned colleges of Edinburgh. If it’s monsters you like, you can look for Nessie in the Loch Ness; if you prefer more down-to-earth pursuits, Scottish men and women are friendly, hospitable, and kind. Scottish cuisine is unique, to say the least, but much better than the descriptions of things like haggis (sheep’s stomach filled with a meat and oatmeal mixture and boiled) would lead you to think! Bagpipes and kilts, Highland games and Scottish single-malt whiskey (the name comes from the Gaelic uisge-beatha, meaning “water of life”) are only part of the culture you can experience in Scotland.

The large cities in Scotland have marvelous art and culture museums, and there are dozens of excellent historical museums and sites. In Edinburgh Castle, don’t miss the famous Stone of Scone, over which all the Scottish kings were crowned, or the ancient Scottish crown jewels. And in the countryside, some of the historic castles are available as lodging; speak to your travel agent for information.

    Cornwall

Cornwall is the historic birthplace of King Arthur, and it’s easy to believe in Arthurian legends when you stand on its high cliffs. It’s mostly rural now, but has a unique culture and a strong seafaring tradition. Many British emigrants to the Americas set sail from its port Falmouth.

    England

Northern England is the home of the famous Lake District of Cumbria, from where the English Romantic poets Byron, Wordsworth, and Shelley often drew their inspiration. Much of Northern England is historically heavily industrialized, but you shouldn’t let that deter you from visiting; the countrysite is beautiful, and the coast nearby. You’ll also find dozens of sites in the countryside where standing stones were erected in the past, as well as museums filled with archaeological treasures from Britain’s past.

When you move southward, you can find the remnants of Sherwood Forest, only a pale shadow of the immense old-growth forest of Robin Hood tales. You’ll also find dozens of castles and castle remains from a millennium of history, ranging from the concentric rings of earthwork foundations left over from the wooden fortresses of Saxons, to the relatively new castles of the Normans. Many castles are still lived in, and there are castles in England you can spend the night in, others that you can tour during the day.

Southward still is Salisbury Plain, the austere green meadowland on which stands Stonehenge. Visitors are not allowed to get close enough to touch the ancient standing stones, but you can still feel the history that permeates the countryside around them.

And on the south coast of England, Bath has an amazing variety of architectural treasures, ranging from the still-usable Roman baths to the proud Georgian townhouses that line its streets. Bath has more protected historical buildings per capita than any city in England. If you visit, you should not miss the Roman baths; the Pump Room, center of Georgian society; and the Royal Crescent, lined with elegant Georgian homes from the 19th century heyday of Bath. And from Bath, you can take the 2 hour bus trip to London, surely the crowning glory of any tour of England.

    London

London is one of the premier cities of the world, populated by more than seven million people. And it is filled with history, with art, with culture. It is not to be missed, no matter what your interests. If you like nightlife, London has some of the best nightclubs in the world, ranging from tough punk bars to celebrity-haunted clubs. In the day, you can get free admission to the British Museum, the British Library, the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, and Tate Gallery; admission to many, many other cultural attractions is inexpensive.

There are dozens of walking tours of London, both self-guided and using a guide; if you look online, you can find many of the self-guided ones for free. Almost every guidebook to London also has its own self-guided tours listed.

If you want to visit some of the admission-charging attractions (for which students and seniors may be able to get “concessions,” or discounts), consider Westminster Abbey, the Cabinet War Room, and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Covent Garden, once a pleasure-garden for the rich and not-so-rich, has evolved into a boutique filled shopping district. And if you hang out around Buckingham Palace, you can see the Changing of the Guard, and maybe even a member of the Royal Family or two.

Travelers to London, in short, may wish they had a month or three to just tour London; two millennia of history is a lot of layers to dig through. One word of warning: London does have problems with pickpockets, especially in the more tourist-haunted sections of town. Avoid showing money around, and keep your pockets guarded.
